We promised to be back with more names soon and we always keep to our promises. With already 10 names announced and 5 new names right below, we can still say there are many more to come. But more about that later. In this batch of names we have two bands coming back for more after a successful appearance in the past and some 'newbies' that are well known in the worldwide post-rock scene (or should be!). Here's a short introduction:
Rosetta was just a matter of time and an inevitable addition to the line-up at some point. This post-metal/hardcore/noise band from Philadelphia, USA has been on our wishlist for years but we were never able to give them that right spot in the line-up. This year the pieces finally fell into place. Their first appearance at our festival is scheduled for Friday May 11th, 2018.
Huracán from Belgium already performed at dunk!festival in 2015 and their post-stoner riffs will be back in 2018. This time they'll be your wake up call on the mainstage on Saturday May 12th and kick off the third day of our festival. This (and a cup of coffee) should give us a head start.
Also Wyatt E. played the festival before (in 2016 to be precise). These Belgians are writing music for ancient and forgotten gods. But I'm sure they won't mind if ordinary people like us have a listen to their orient doom / post-rock / drones. Out in the nature, into the forest will be the best place to set this up.
Besides from Poland is new to the festival but not to the post-rock scene and even beyond that, after their television appearance on Polish TV where they actually won the music competition (Must Be The Music). Besides that (no pun intended) they bring excellent, epic post-rock music. Give their latest album 'Everything Is' a spin and you'll be convinced.
Tortuganónima from Chile, signed to our friends at LeRockPsicophonique (Baikonur, La Ciencia Simple) will travel all the way across the ocean for their first appearance in Europe... ever! After touring USA (in 2015) and Japan (in 2016) this was the next item on their to do list. Expect post-rock with a touch of math-rock and progressive rock, noise rock and ambient colors.
