There's already a whole bunch of names announced for our 14th edition but we still have a good amount of names coming up. In this next announcement we only have 'first time' bands. And most of them will be traveling a long way to get there.
Grails from Portland, Oregon will bring their own unique approach to the post-rock genre to our stage on May 11th. "No one else sounds like Grails, and on Chalice Hymnal (their latest album, released in February 2017) they sound more like themselves than ever before." Their album Deep Politics (2011) was an instant cult classic. So that means plenty of interesting stuff to enjoy live!
Aswekeepsearching from India "is a modern post-rock band expressing emotions, life experiences and feelings in the form of instrumental music with some vocals." Their biography states that making an impact is what they do best. Besides their music, their live pictures prove they are probably right about that.
Ohgod from Cape Town, South Africa is the first band from that continent on our stage. Their sound is a mix of progressive metal, post-rock and shoegaze. Their latest album The Great Silence was released in Decemeber 2017. The music video for Hungry Ghosts shows this is gonna be loud and heavy.
I Am Wolves is post-rock from Belgium. It was just a matter of time to have them at the festival. They recorded their upcoming album at Deaftone Studios just around the corner (literally!) and will bring those brand new tunes back to Zottegem to play them live for the first time. We already had the chance to check it out (studio is right next to us remember?) and we are absolutely positive you will be into this as well!
The Ills from Slovakia brings a mix of post-rock, shoegaze, math-rock and prog-rock and mentions in their biography that they perform this live with an intense atmosphere combined with intimate parts and sometimes a punk attitude and a hardcore drive. Sounds like a good fit for us! They've toured many European countries and shared the stage with And So I Watch You From Afar, Russian Circles, Rosetta and God Is An Astronaut.
