We already shared the full line-up a few days ago but we might have forgotten to mention that there was still one band missing. Simply because they were booked very last minute. And the good news is that they confirmed a few hours ago! We're talking about Welcome To Holyland.
Here it is! The final line-up for #dnk19. These bands are the last ones to join the party but definitely not the least. In this last announcement we have lots of high quality Belgian bands, new music from across the Atlantic and two Forest headliners.
Efrim Manuel Menuck as a musician has made a big impact on the scene. With Godspeed You! Black Emperor he can be called one of the founding fathers and an inspiration for many. We were happy to welcome him on our stage in 2010 with Thee Silver Mt. Zion and are now excited to have him back 9 years later. This time with his solo project with Kevin Doria.
The festival is coming closer now and the last bands are being confirmed these days. While fine tuning some details with everyone involved we are ready to announce another 5 bands! And we can include an interesting dunk!records announcement as well.
Ladies and gentlemen, we would like to present the second headliner for dunk!festival 2019: Ufomammut. Besides this being our 15th edition we can also celebrate the 20th anniversary of this power trio from Italy. They started out in 1999. That was last century! Luckily for us this is not their first appearance at the festival. If you were there in 2014 (first time at the new location) we don’t have to explain their live reputation.
Let’s move forward with this already exciting line-up and let it grow to something even more special. Also this time we have bands from all over the world with (not so) old friends and new friends joining us for dunk!festival 2019.
We are sure everyone is impatiently waiting for some new names for the line-up and we’re of course happy to announce another nice collection of bands for the upcoming edition. In this announcement we have some very interesting music of which most of it is leaning more towards the experimental side of the post-rock scene. But let us look into them one by one before we jump into conclusions here.
Spoiler alert: their one and only EU show is dunk!festival 2019.
When you look through the timeline of post-rock’s widely diversified history, you find bands spread all over the sonic map that are highly regarded for their influence on artists to come. That being said, the first waves of post-rock look very little like what listeners are accustomed to in 2019.
It’s almost Christmas so we thought announcing a first headliner would be a nice present for everyone. With 156k followers on Facebook, their videos reaching 1 million streams and worldwide touring we probably don’t need to introduce this band from France…
This years line-up will have space for 39 bands. That’s three more than last year! That also means we still have a whole bunch of names to announce and so we will get on with it and add another five bands coming from all over the world to spend some excellent time in Belgium. By the way, did you know two of these bands are located 16.390 km away from each other and will travel 11.852 km from Santiago de Chile and 10.584 km from Singapore to perform at dunk!festival 2019!
Are you guys ready for the very first line-up announcement for this 15th(!) edition of our small cozy festival in the Flemish Ardennes? Let’s assume you are and proceed to the actual announcement. The following five bands each bring their very own sound to the table and we’re excited to offer this kind of mix at our festival.
With only two days to go some people are already traveling to the festival and those coming by train can make use of our shuttle service. Or you could take the nice walk through the Flemish fields surrounding the festival (dotted lines).
Combi tickets are now completely sold out! Day tickets are going fast as well. That's why we decided not to have tickets on sale at the entrance. Make sure to grab a day ticket if you want to be part of this amazing weekend.
The one and only official dunk!festival 2018 t-shirt. Only available as pre-order and pick up at the festival on May 10-11-12th, 2018.
They're finally here! The official time schedules for dunk!festival 2018. And there's only good news in there. As you can see it is (again) perfectly possible to see every minute of every show... in theory. We know this is important. To accomplish this we decided to set-up only two stages again. And that implies some advantages for everyone:
It is with great pleasure that we reveal the final name and full line-up for dunk!festival 2018. Les Discrets is coming over from France on May 12th and will make sure the last evening of this 14th edition is as memorable as the rest of this magical weekend.
All good things come in fives, or something like that. With this announcement we have 35 bands of 36 announced for dunk!festival 2018, which is now only 69 days away! But enough numbers. Here's some relevant information about the wonderful bands joining the line-up.
After moving around this amazing bunch of bands in different slots on different days we think we reached a pretty solid and balanced line-up per day. So we are happy to reveal the day schedules for dunk!festival 2018. Be aware that we still have six more names to be announced. We hope to be able to do that very soon! Time tables will be available later.
You better start training those headbanging muscles and crowd surfing skills because this is probably the heaviest announcement of the line-up, bringing us close to the final bill. Still tweaking some details but we're happy to add these 5 amazing bands to the line-up today!
There's already a whole bunch of names announced for our 14th edition but we still have a good amount of names coming up. In this next announcement we only have 'first time' bands. And most of them will be traveling a long way to get there.
