Red Dwarf Star is the brainchild of guitarist Coley Dennis of the long running Post-Rock/Kraut-rock band Maserati. Located now in Lausanne, Switzerland, Coley Dennis has recorded a record that’s taken him back to his roots in the early 90’s; tapping into Creation Records bands like Slowdive, Swervedriver as well the Cure and Cocteau Twins. It has also served as a sonic pallet for his first ever solo output, “LP 1” slated for release soon. Adding as well mid-90’s U.S. “Midwest Core” influences like HUM, Failure, Quicksand and Shiner, Coley Dennis is creating beautiful but powerful sonic landscapes reminiscent of the lush shoegaze sounds that ignited the 1990s and still prove popular today, with the rise of alternative scene like post- black-metal and especially, our beloved post-rock scene. These compositions were inspired by the artist’s experiences from leaving his home country in 2015 for a new life in Europe and starting a family and career. Drawing form this monumental changes, Coley Dennis has record his most persona material to date, which we are very excited to present live to you this year in what is vert close to a live premiere! For the recording of his first solo record, Coley Dennis enlisted the Kellii Scott (Failure), Mike Byrne (ex-Smashing Pumpkins) and Matthias Poese and Börge Meyn of JeffK!
