Ivonne Van Cleef Orquesta (ar/fr)

This year we’re happy to present The Ivonne Van Cleef Orquesta, presented in a special live performance that will bring to life their chilling instrumental music. Several years in the making, we already wanted to present this live set last year, and we're thrilled to finally share it with you all in May. The Ivonne Van Cleef Orquesta is a multinational project featuring musicians from Argentina and France, writing scores of post-rock soundtracks incorporating elements of psychedelia, desert music and dark ambient. TIVCO is also a part of the project named Olson, Van Cleef, Williams, which gathers T.G. Olson, Caleb Williams, and IVC, musical collaborators hailing from the United States, France, and Argentina, working together across borders. This project has released three albums, "As Gold Turned To Black Powder" (2020), "Unleash the Hoof's Revenge" (2021), and "Bleached Skeletons Strewn About The Plains" (2022), and their musical style can be best summarized as "Psychedelic Rock Instrumentals for an Imaginary Western Film," as described by Ted Gioia. Recently, the album "Unleash the Hoof's Revenge" (2021) was released on vinyl by Den Of Wax Records, and it was pressed right at dunk!pressing.

Worthy of a Sergio Leone movie, their music bridges our love for Westerns with our total reverence for post-rock via chilling and haunting soundscapes, constructed on layers of pedal-laden guitars and looped synths. Distortion, delay, reverb and whoops transport the listener on this psychedelic journey through a silent Western film, via sprawling post-rock ambiance and atmospherics. Their live performance is enhanced on improvisation, unconventional equipment, and lo-fi instrumentation, for a classic dunk!festival moment we will all look back at with fondness and awe.
