Ulmus (es)

Ulmus is another creative vein parting from the artful heart of Xavi Forné, better known as Error!Design, an all-round unstoppable creative from Barcelona. Xavi also captains Malämmar, who your ears might remember from previous editions of the festival for their robust and muscular stoner metal was one of the loudest shows we had the pleasure to offer throughout the years. However, while Malämmar composed with an iron fist, Ulmus uses a velvet glove to weave captivating and evocative guitar yarns to transport the listener to a faraway land.

Featuring almost entirely acoustic guitars, Ulmus soothes and pacifies the listener but does not fail to captivate them as well! Xavi used this gentler alter-ego to address his mental health issues and composed these mostly acoustic tracks as a form of “self-therapy in search of light within moments of great darkness”. The emotional content of these songs is apparent, their advancing as gentle as it is self-assured and their evocative power as bold as it is delicate. An Ulmus live show is a direct sensory connection with an honest and open heart, a perfect opportunity to experience something truly special at the festival.
