Ka’una (be)

Friday May 10th
17:30 - 18:10 / Domzaal

Nimbly walking the fine line separating post-rock and post-metal, Belgian quartet Ka’una are an exciting new band we’re happy to bring to the festival this year! Acrobatically jumping between blissfully ethereal passages and full-fledged sonic devastation, the band demonstrates a rare talent in navigating the sometimes confined space between these two genres. Ka’una have carved themselves a space of their own by juxtaposing the most delicate elements of one with the more intense of the other, in an organic mix that decisively relaxes and excites the listener at the same time. Ka’una follow in the footsteps of genre giants ISIS, re-elaborating the layered structures and slowed-down tempo of sludge metal with the elegance and delicacy of post-rock expansive soundscape building. Like glaciers, these colossal compositions advance slowly and steadily and capture everything in their path, leaving a trail of enthralled listeners. We’re looking forward to seeing this band in action at the festival!
