Baulta (fin)

Baulta is name most of you will be familiar with as the band is one of dunk!records most beloved acts. Two sold-out albums and 5000+ mostly streams more than amply prove this, but the Finns are more than the sum of their commercial achievements of course.

Baulta have always favoured slow and gentle build-ups over bombastic compositions and their soundscapes are all the more blissful because of that. Elegant, joy- and youth- ful, these songs sound like nature reawakening in Spring, when the thaw and a few bashful rays give the first shy leaves and flowers a uniquely vivid colour. As longer days start showing their full promise Baulta are scoring these precious simple moments with quiet, graceful compositions, so quiet and timid themselves to conjure up these special moments with unique sweeping vibrancy. Promising compositions for moments full of promise, Baulta’s latest record “Pure Escapism” (out in December on dunk!records) is the soundtrack to the awakening of all senses, and proved once again how the Finnish outfit are one of post-rock's finest acts.

Finnish post-rock sweethearts Baulta will return to dunk!festival 7 years after their last appearance and our last edition in the forest! Hard to think it's already been that long, but Baulta played a lovely show in 2019, in what became an iconic last edition in Zottegem before we moved to Gent in 2022. So we thought what best occasion than our return to the forest for their return too?

Having released their latest record "Pure Escapism" in December we cannot wait to hear some new tunes played live as the album is.
