Bloed (be)

Saturday May 16th
14:20 - 15:00 / Forest Stage

Born from one.

One of the latest additions to the dunk!records family is both a band and… a family! Bloed is Tuur, Toon, and Fieke Soete, three siblings playing heavy music. Harsh, abrasive, and unrelenting Bloed’s compositions defy categorisation and expectations for they sound way louder than just three people while savvily navigating the space between hardcore, industrial, and post-metal.

Bursting on the scenes three years ago with singles "Neus" and "Doop", Bloed immediately made a name for themselves in the Belgian underground scene thanks to visceral live performances and their signature post-industrial sound. Featuring only bass, drums and walls of synths, Bloed beef up their hardcore backbone with a blanket of sweeping synthetic noise, charging their music with a uniquely devastating force. Highly dystopian in character, Bloed’s music also possesses a distinctive beauty; from the first notes each compositions oozes with love, angst, and passion, laying bare the familiar connection between the trio.

For a band we came to know and appreciate from a live setting this festival performance feels like full circle. From seeing Bloed live in a basement to helping them release their full debut “Tranen” (tears in Dutch) on dunk!records last year, their forest set is the coronation of their hard work, and a celebration of all we stand for: connecting and bringing people together through music. Join us for a performance packed with emotions and meaning, and layers and layers and more layers of synths.
