A husband-and-wife duo born during the COVID lockdown in Austin, Texas, Skloss is drummer/vocalist Karen Skloss and guitarist/vocalist Sandy Carson. Surrounded by drums and amps and a world gone sideways, they turned this surreal shared experience into something equally disorienting, loud and magnificent. Their debut album 'The Pattern Speaks' (2025), blends heavy psychedelia and post-metal riffs with carpets of drones and meditative rhythms. Raw and distorted riffs alternate with or blend into droning noise, calming repetition or total sonic onslaught. The album is at once a cosmic plea for help and a profoundly grounded emotional reckoning, pulverising and ethereal in equal measure.
