Turpentine Valley (be)
Friday May 15th
17:50 - 18:35 / Forest Stage
Ten years after their formation Turpentine Valley sound darker, more mature, and more determined than ever. This Belgian trio on sublimates post-metal to its purest form: no singing, a massive wall-of-sound of layered guitars, growling bass, and groovy drumming, and an uncompromising refusal to give you an easy way out. Their debut 'Etch' (2019) spread the band’s wings; their sophomore 'Alder' (2022) took flight; and their 2026 album ‘Veuel” —released just a few months ago— soared to new dazzling heights.
This new records feels like the culmination of a journey. The sublimation of the band’s sound alchemy and creative zenith, shifting from crushing heaviness to sweeping melancholy with breathtaking precision. We’re curious to see how many of you will head-bang to massive new tracks like Pando and Dref. Fans of Cult of Luna rejoice, for we’re bringing you another intense post-metal, and one of Belgium’s finest acts, Turpentine Valley are an unmissable feat playing a show almost in their own backyard.
